“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
October Haiku:
Colours are changing,
spider webs are everywhere
oh, fall must be here!
“Autumn is the mellower season,
and what we lose in flowers we more than gain in fruits.”
Samuel Butler
“Spades take up leaves
No better than spoons,
And bags full of leaves
Are light as balloons.
I make a great noise
Of rustling all day
Like rabbit and deer
Running away.”
Robert Frost
“I loved autumn,
the one season of the year that God seemed to have put there just for the beauty of it.”
Lee Maynard
“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.”
F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
“I sit beside the fire and think
of all that I have seen
Of meadow flowers and butterflies
In summers that have been
Of yellow leaves and gossamer
In autumns that there were
With morning mist and silver sun
And wind upon my hair.”
J.R.R. Tolkien
October, baptize me with leaves!
Swaddle me in corduroy and nurse me with split pea soup.
October, tuck tiny candy bars in my pockets and carve my smile into a thousand pumpkins.
O autumn! O teakettle! O grace!”
Rainbow Rowel
“Days decrease,
And autumn grows,
autumn in everything.”
Robert Browning
“Autumn…the year’s last, loveliest smile.”
John Howard Bryant, Indian Summer

News from the studio:
"Standing Together" has SOLD
.
I have four paintings in the "Ode to Emily Carr" Exhibit at Gallery 1710 in Tsawwassen
from October 1 to 31, 2021:
This is the lobby wall at Gallery 1710, so proud to have my paintings (three on the left and one far right) displayed here.
The "Ode to Emily Carr" show includes over 100 paintings, several pieces of sculpture and 14 pieces of pottery from the Delta Potters Group; there is a prize draw and art cards featuring some of the paintings in the exhibit and decorated tote bags. I am the co chair of the Exhibits Committee and very proud of this show. If you haven't been to Gallery 1710, (home of the South Delta Artists Guild), before maybe give it a try:
